The Foundation of Griffin Bible Church
Griffin Bible Church is an independent, fundamental Baptist church. We use the King James Version of the Bible and we believe:
The Bible
We believe in the Holy Scripture as the very Word of God, verbally inspired in all parts and wholly without error as originally given. We trust the King James Version of the Bible. (II Timothy 3:16–17; II Peter 1:20–21)
Jesus Christ
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Word and Only Begotten Son. He was born of a virgin, gave Himself in death upon the cross, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven. (I Corinthians 15:1–4)
Man
We believe man was directly created by God in His image, but all are by nature and choice sinful and lost. (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith alone. It is the free gift of God, not earned by any work of man, but received by faith in Christ. (Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8–9)
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates, indwells, seals, and anoints all who trust Christ. (John 3:5–6; John 14:17; Ephesians 4:30)
Satan
We believe in the existence of Satan, created perfect but fallen, now the great adversary of God and His people. His defeat is assured. (Ephesians 2:2; Revelation 20:10)
Godly Life
We believe righteous living and godly works are the evidence of salvation and the fruit of faith. (Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8–10)
Future of Believers and Unbelievers
We believe in the bodily resurrection, eternal life for believers, and eternal judgment for the lost. (II Corinthians 5:8, 10; I Thessalonians 4:13–18)
Second Coming of Christ
We believe in Christ’s second coming: the rapture of the church, the tribulation, and His thousand-year reign. (I Thessalonians 4:13–18; II Peter 3:10–14)
Body of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ alone is Head of the Body, the Church.
Local Church
We believe in the independence and autonomy of the local New Testament church, made up of baptized believers.
Church Ordinances
We believe Christ gave two ordinances to the local church: baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
