About Our Church
Griffin Bible Church is a conservative, independent Baptist church that believes Jesus Christ should have “preeminence” in all things. Our goal is to glorify God through worship, music, and ministries with a commitment to the authority of His Word. Guided by our theme verse, Colossians 1:18, we seek to ensure that Christ holds the supreme rank and authority in everything we do.
Worship Style
Traditional hymns, conservative music, and services centered on God’s Word.
Doctrine
We hold to conservative biblical teaching and use the King James Bible.
Community
A friendly, family-oriented church with a heart for fellowship and service.
Our History
Griffin Bible Church began in October 1982 when Pastor Ed Taylor started Bible Baptist Church in a rented house building on 13th Street in downtown Griffin.
In 1986, the church merged with People's Baptist Church on Coe Dr. and became People's Bible Baptist Church. A few years later the church voted to return to the name Bible Baptist Church.
In February 2015, Pastor Taylor became pastor emeritus and passed the leadership of the church to Pastor John Sweatte.
